Who can participate?

Young people ages 12 through 20 are welcome. Classes are divided into beginner and advanced levels.

What about food?

Three square meals are served each day. Although menus vary from camp to camp, meals are prepared and served by camp staff. Additionally, soft drinks and snacks may be purchased at the camp store.

Are you a religious organization?

No. Freedom Generation summer camps are sponsored by the American Opinion Foundation which is not affiliated with any church or religious doctrinal beliefs. However, we do believe that our nation is great because it was founded on Judeo-Christian principles. We encourage morality, integrity, and purpose. Students from all religious and cultural backgrounds are welcome.

How are lodging and supervision handled?

Separate quarters for the young men and women are provided. Campers are divided into groups and are lodged according to age. There is at least one counselor assigned to every 5-7 campers. Private restroom and shower facilities are provided. All activities are supervised and carried out according to the highest standards of moral conduct.

What if first aid is needed?

Medical personnel are present at each camp for immediate, minor medical situations. Each camp has an emergency action plan in the event of a serious injury or illness.

Should I send a child who has a negative attitude toward going?

Yes! We emphasize "send" because most young people simply won’t volunteer to go to an educationally-themed camp. This attitude is understandable considering the poor quality of education in many schools and the pernicious influence of the entertainment media they’ve been exposed to.

Around the second day at camp, many of those who were unhappy about having been sent are grateful for the insistence of their parents or sponsor. We have witnessed this transition time and time again, and attribute the change in attitude to the character of our campers and staff, and the camaraderie established between campers, as well as to the truths they learn from the curriculum.

Not surprisingly, many campers have told us they learned more about our nation and its government in six days at camp than in a number of years at school.

How will my child benefit?

The search for truth is a crucial part of the learning process for young individuals. The Freedom Generation summer camp program will challenge your child to think clearly, to analyze a situation accurately, and to make decisions based on common sense and principle. They will know how American government is supposed to work! Our instructors are chosen for their considerable knowledge of the principles of Americanism. Read a brief description of our curriculum online.

After a week at our camp, your child can face the future confidently and help preserve the freedoms that make America the greatest country in the world!

Along with learning what is essential to insure a future of freedom, your child will experience a variety of outdoor activities, spend time with some fascinating people, and make friendships that will last a lifetime!
